The ‘Eton’ log cabin is exclusive to John Lewis from summer 2013.
Designed and distributed by Oxfordshire-based Crown Pavillions, The John Lewis Eton was shortlisted for Garden Product of the Year 2013 at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
This multi-functional garden building is a big departure for John Lewis who up till now have sold a limited range of fairly standard garden sheds and summer houses. The Eton is something new and very exciting.
In one elegant and simple structure it combines the benefits of a log cabin office, garden eating area plus a garden storage shed, and all for under £10k.
John Lewis are supplying and building the Eton at £9995 and that includes the VAT.
Crown Pavilions build their summer houses and log cabins in the UK and use cedar from sustainable sources. The Eton is clad with redwood on a sturdy cedar frame. Cedar is a quality material that will always outlast pine; most other manufacturers use only pine. The roof is constructed not from cheap roofing felt or thin felt tiles, but rubber EPDM which again will last a lot longer.
What’s more the Eton comes in a range of finishes; your choice of colour is included in the price. The standard Eton cabin measures 3.3 x 2.8 metres and the roof height is sufficiently low to avoid the need for planning permission. A bespoke service on this cabin; specify your measurements and Crown Pavilions will build it to your exact specifications.
Two wooden benches, a dining table and drop-down canvas sides specially made to fit the dining area are also included.
The office area is compact but very light and bright due to the glass door and very generous window.
The storage area is conveniently hidden away at the back of the cabin. The useful storage area is fully lined with boarding and access to it is via a sturdy, secure door.
The John Lewis Eton is an incredibly versatile, well-designed cabin. And at under ten grand you are getting a guaranteed quality product from one of the UK’s most respected and trusted retailers.
The only thing not included is the base. The Eton will need a level paving slab or concrete base (minimum 6″ deep) prior to installation. Remember installation is included in the price and the timber comes pre-treated and factory primed and painted in the Farrow and Ball colour you select.
The current lead time on this product is 6-8 weeks. The Eton comes with a very reassuring 10 year guarantee backed by John Lewis.
For anyone requiring a home office but wanting to incorporate a great area for socialising as well as a discrete but practical storage area, look no further.
